MSc in Asset Management
COURSE OBJECTIVES The MSc in Asset Management offers participants the appropriate financial, legal and fiscal competences to assist their future clients in the constitution, development protection and transmission of their assets. Beyond the technical competences required for the elaboration of investment strategies, this specialization emphasizes the commercial, relational and ethical dimension of professional asset management.
OUTLETS The outlets in asset management consulting are numerous in banks, insurance companies, retirement and contingency funds, independent consultancies. This specialization also offers openings towards corporate customers and commercial management.
PROGRAM The course is taught in French.
This 400 hour program rests on the recognized competences of the RMS teaching staff and the expertise of numerous professionals (50% academics/50% professionals). It centers around 9 modules:
- Financial Assets law and Taxation (84 hours)
- Markets and Financial products (56 hours)
- Real estate (21hours)
- Insurance & Retirement (56 hours)
- Asset Management (21 hours)
- Asset Transmission and Valuation (56 hours)
- Asset Diagnosis (43 hours)
- Negotiation & Sales (42 hours)
- Deontology/ Ethics (16 hours)
An optional international seminar (1 week in April) in New York or Montreal on the theme of insurance and retirement.
COURSE FORMAT The MSc Asset management format is that of an executive format which favors professional integration by combining a 10 month internship (October to July) with alternate 3 day seminars every fortnight (Thursday, Friday and Saturday). Courses start on October 2nd, 2008.
